Who hasn't heard of China's famous rice paddies? Discover them for yourself with a tour of the rice terraces and villages of Longsheng. Immerse yourself in Chinese rural life.
Longsheng Rice Terraces & Villages
We'll pick you up by bus from your hotels in Guilin between 7 am and 9 am.
After a two-hour drive we'll reach Longsheng, where we'll visit two villages belonging to a region of China known for its different ethnic groups. We'll meet the Zhuang and Yao communities and see how they live their daily lives. We'll watch them weaving and enjoy their traditional music and dances.
On our tour, we'll find out many fascinating aspects of life in these villages before we stop for lunch at a local restaurant. We'll enjoy a range of Chinese dishes that will be served in the centre of the table to share.
Once our batteries are recharged, we'll head to the Longsheng rice terraces and enjoy the incredible views from these 700-year-old rice fields. We'll learn how the irrigation system of these crops works and take pictures of the beautiful curves created by the rice fields in the mountains.
Lastly, we'll go on a half-hour hike up to the top of these rice terraces, at an altitude of 888 metres. The views will take your breath away!
At the end of the tour we'll hop back on the bus and return to your hotels in Guilin, arriving between 5 pm and 5:30 pm.
