Dovrefjell National Park Hike + Muskox
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at Hjerkinnhusvegen Street, where we'll board a minibus that will take us from Hjerkinn to the Dovrefjell National Park.
Once at our destination, we'll start a hiking route of between 6-12 kilometres (miles). We'll head into a snowy world, with the aim of spotting muskox who live in the Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park.
As we go in search of these local creatures, we'll see tall mountains, untouched valleys and even lakes. It will feel like we're walking into nothingness.
At any moment, these muskox may appear before our very eyes. Did you know that they can weigh 400 kilograms (880 pounds)? Or that they can live up to 25 years old? Or that their fur can resist the winter cold? We'll tell you more curiosities about this special arctic species as we take photos of them.
After a 5-6 hour route, we'll return to the minibus and end our tour back at the starting point.
