Visit the British territory of Gibraltar on this day trip from Isla Canela. Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll be able to visit this strategic enclave and see its famous monkeys.
We'll come and pick you up from your hotel in Isla Canela and hop on a bus to head to Gibraltar.
Once we're there, our guide will tell us interesting facts about Gibraltar, which has been British territory since the beginning of the 18th century. And ever since then it's been a source of dispute between the United Kingdom and Spain due to its strategic location.
We'll drive to la Roca and the San Miguel cave, a network of tunnels that have been bored into the limestone rock for thousands of years by the effect of the water and have been used for military purposes since the Middle Ages. We'll go on a guided tour around its chambers and learn about the history of battles on el Peñón.
After that, we'll head to Punta de Europa, a plain in the south of Gibraltar where you'll be able to admire the views overlooking the Rif mountains in Africa.
Here we'll also be able to see the famous Gibraltar monkeys, the only primate that lives wild in Europe. We'll also find out why this animal appears to have become the city's most popular pet!
Then we'll enjoy some free time to have lunch in one of the restaurants (not included) and do some shopping, making the most of Gibraltar's free port. At the end of the trip, the bus will take us back to Isla Canela.
Please note that Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory, and entry requirements are generally the same as UK entry requirements.
