Hello Kitty Island is a site completely devoted to the world's most famous feline. This fictional character was created by designer Yuko Shimizu in the mid-1970s for the Japenese company Sanrio.
On the first floor of the museum, you will discover the fascinating history of this adorable cat from its creation through to the present day. Find out the inspiration behind the design, how the character has evolved, and just why it is so popular across the globe.
Also on the first floor, you will have the chance to enter the Hello Kitty's house and discover what relation the character has to the world of art and music. Afterward, on the second floor, you will browse some brilliant exhibitions which illustrate how Hello Kitty is presented in other countries around the world.
The opening times for Hello Kitty Island vary according to the season of the year:
- From mid-July to mid-August, it is open every day from 9 am to 8 pm.
- Rest of the year, Hello Kitty Island opens every day from 9 am to 6 pm.
