Krakow Free Bike Tour
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the sculpture of Eros Bendato, in the heart of the historic centre of Krakow. Once we're all there, we'll begin this free bike tour of the city's most standout locations.
Along our route, we'll go over the history of Krakow, marked by the World Wars, as we cycle past its most iconic sites. At the beginning, we'll discuss how military alliances, imperial tensions and European rivalries triggered the conflict of the First World War.
We'll cycle past some of the key points related to Józef Piłsudski's Polish Legions, the military force that fought for Poland's independence and learn how this movement helped the reconstruction of the country after the war.
We'll learn about the fall of the empires while we cycle through points that will allow us to understand the Treaty of Versailles, the peace agreement that ended the First World War and its economic and political implications, which sowed the seeds of the Second World War.
Lastly, we'll bring the tour to an end by discovering how the consequences of the Great War influenced the outbreak of the Second World War. Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point after a total of 2.5 hours.
