At the indicated time, we'll start this private tour of A Guarda from Alameda Park.
After a brief introduction, we'll admire some of the most famous Indian houses of A Guarda. These residences were built by emigrants from the town who returned to Galicia after having made their fortune in America. The exterior decoration of these houses shows the opulence of that period.
We'll continue the tour at the Castle of Santa Cruz, an impressive 17th-century fortress from which we'll enjoy magnificent views of the Atlantic coast and the Minho River. After taking in the panoramic views, we'll continue our walk to the Church of Santa María, which combines Gothic and Baroque elements.
The next stop is the Plaza del Reloj, where the Town Hall is located. This esplanade was used for other purposes in the past - do you know what they were? We'll find out!
