Book a 4.5-hour mountain biking guided tour of Fuencaliente, located in the southern tip of Las Palmas, famous for its unique volcanic landscape, and enjoy incredible views as you ride along its coast and past its lighthouse.
Meet your guide at the Fuencaliente Tourist Information Office, where you can either choose an electric or mountain bike. Once you are given your bicycle, set off on a 20-kilometre (12.4 miles) route in the south of La Palma accompanied by an expert Spanish and English-speaking guide. During the first part of the tour, you will discover why this municipality is called Fuencaliente, meaning “Hot Springs”, an area which was devastated by the eruption of the Teneguía volcano in 1971.
Cycle to Cumbre Nueva, a stunning natural park up in the mountain, home to the autochthonous plants of the island. While you border the coast, you’ll enjoy the phenomenal volcanic landscape, cross the contrasting green and black vineyards and stop to spot the neighbouring islands.
As you traverse the arid area of Fuencaliente, you will have to ride over several slopes and other banks common in this part of the island.
Our bike tour then takes us to the Echentive natural pools, where you can take a dip to cool off.
After a little more than four hours pedalling in Fuencaliente, the tour will come to an end at the starting point.
