Ice Climbing on Huayna Potosí Mountain
Description
Do you like adventure? Did you know that Bolivia has one of the best places in the world for ice climbing? At the indicated time, we'll meet at the offices located on Sagarnaga Street and start this fascinating climbing experience on the Huayna Potosí mountain.
Once we're all together, we'll travel by minibus to the base camp of Huayna Potosí, located at 4,700 metres (15,400 feet) above sea level. Once we have all the necessary equipment for the activity, we'll start walking along the glacier.
The route, which takes approximately 40 minutes, will take us to one of the frozen walls of the Huayna Potosí mountain, specifically to the area of the Old Glacier, which is perfect for ice climbing. We'll spend between two and three hours doing this activity. Are you excited?
After climbing walls up to 10 metres (32 feet) high, we'll have a wholesome lunch, which we'll enjoy as we admire the beauty of the snow-capped mountain. Then, we'll hike back to base camp.
We'll finish the activity at the starting point after about 10 hours of adventure on the Huayna Potosí mountain.
