Lake Titicaca and La Luna Island Trip
Lake Titicaca and La Luna Island Trip
We'll pick you up first thing in the morning from your hotel in La Paz. Then we board the shared transport and drive through the spectacular landscapes of Bolivia, arriving at our first stop, the town of Copacabana on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Once there, we take a boat trip out into the waters of the Sacred Lake, arriving at Moon Island (Isla de la Luna) which was sacred to the Inca civilization. Here, you'll learn some of the myths and legends that this small piece of the land hides.
On the Island of the Moon, sacred to the Inca civilization, we'll learn some of the myths and legends that are concentrated in its small territory. Also, we'll learn who currently lives here and what their day-to-day life is like.
We'll learn all about the importance that women had on this island during the pre-Columbian time. All this while hiking the Warmi Thakhi (Women's Path) and visiting the Iñac Uyu temple.
Before returning to Copacabana, you'll have time to interact with the local population and admire their local handicrafts. You'll learn all about the evolution of the indigenous people of Lake Titicaca up until the present day. All this surrounded by the spectacular setting of Lake Titicaca, one of the largest and highest in the world.
