Nos recogieron (y dejaron) en el resort Sunscape Dominicus La Romana de Bayahibe, con el chófer willi, un buen conductor y buena persona, una vez en Santo Domingo nos hizo el tour Rodi, un 10 estuvo pendiente de nosotros por si necesitábamos algo y nos contó la historia de Santo Domingo muy bien. El tour desde hotel en bayahibe lo empezamos a las 9:30, cuando la información de civitatis pone que inicia entre 7 y 8, por suerte no pusimos en contacto con el tour operador local y nos avisó que la hora de salida era las 9:30. Se llega después a la primer punto de visita de Santo Domingo sobre las 11: 45 donde nos espera el guia, en nuestro caso Rodi, que estuvo en todo momento atento y hizo la experiencia genial con sus explicaciones de lo que nos mostraba.

The tour from our hotel in Bayahibe started at 9:30, even though Civitatis' information said it would start between 7 and 8. Luckily, we contacted the local tour operator and they informed us that the departure time was 9:30. We arrived at the first point of interest in Santo Domingo around 11:45, where our guide, Rodi, was waiting for us. He was attentive at all times and made the experience fantastic with his explanations of everything he showed us.

Al tener que esperar el grupo que llega de Punta Cana se llega muy tarde a Santo Domingo (sobre las 12h). El tour está bien visto que no hay mucho que ver. El guía ha sido muy amable pero le han fallado algunos datos históricos. El restaurante, supuestamente de comida dominicana, ha sido lo peor, una M mayúscula: un bufet con muy poca variedad de platos y para nada genuinos (arroz o pasta), dos platos de carne estofada, un poco de ensalada, pan duro y un postre minúsculo, para todos igual.

Having to wait for the group arriving from Punta Cana meant arriving very late in Santo Domingo (around noon). The tour itself was good, but there wasn't much to see. The guide was very friendly, but he was inaccurate about some historical facts. The restaurant, supposedly serving Dominican food, was the worst part—a complete disaster. It was a buffet with very little variety and nothing authentic (just rice or pasta), two dishes of stewed meat, a small salad, stale bread, and a tiny dessert—the same for everyone.

No se pusieron en contacto con nosotros el dia anterior, por lo que después del madrugón, y de llamar nosotros porque no nos venian a recoger, nos informan que pasaban por el hotel 2 horas después. No contentos con eso se volvieron a retrasar otra media hora. La comida en Santo Domingo: arroz, y dos trozos de pollo con unas pocas habichuelas y de postre un trocito de bizcocho. Lo único bueno que salva la excursion, el GUIA ALEX. MAGNIFICO y enamorado de su profesión.

They didn't contact us the day before, so after getting up early and calling because they hadn't come to pick us up, they told us they'd be at the hotel two hours later. Not content with that, they were another half hour late. Lunch in Santo Domingo: rice, two pieces of chicken with a few beans, and a small piece of cake for dessert. The only good thing that saved the trip was our guide, Alex. He was magnificent and passionate about his work.

Para decir que has estado en Santo Domingo está bien. Pero para un viaje de más de 2'horas de Ida y otras de vuelta, se ve muy poquito de la ciudad. En nuestro caso nos tocó una Van muy pequeña y llena con 14 personas que hizo el viaje muy largo y tedioso.

To say that you have been to Santo Domingo is fine. But for a trip of more than 2 hours one way and another 2 hours back, you see very little of the city. In our case, we had a very small van filled with 14 people, which made the trip very long and tedious.

O ônibus/van que conduzia os passageiros no passeio não possuia identificação da empresa provedora do serviço nos deixando um pouco confusos e perdidos. Felizmente nosso nome foi chamado no alto-falante e conseguimos embarcar. Quanto ao resto foi tudo ótimo. O guia Osvaldo foi extramamente gentil e se comunicava em portguês razoavelmente para que pudéssemos entender. Mas o passeio é excelente e vale a pena. The bus/van that was transporting the passengers on the tour did not have identification from the service provider, leaving us a bit confused and lost. Para decir que has estado en Santo Domingo vale, pero el guía (Daniel) no ha explicado absolutamente nada. Te dejan 50 minutos en una tienda de souvenirs y 1h30 en el restaurante. No estuvimos más de 1 hora de visita en Santo Domingo y paramos en el malecón y en el Faro de Colón porque insistió el grupo (cuando estaba en el itinerario). La visita a la cueva de los 3 ojos corriendo porque “no daba tiempo”… No pudimos subir a la barca. La gestión de los tiempos fatal. No lo recomiendo.

It's fine to say you've been to Santo Domingo, but the guide (Daniel) didn't explain anything at all. They gave us 50 minutes in a souvenir shop and an hour and a half in the restaurant. We didn't spend more than an hour visiting Santo Domingo, and we only stopped at the Malecón and the Columbus Lighthouse because the group insisted (even though it was on the itinerary). The visit to the Cave of the Three Eyes was rushed because "there wasn't enough time"... We couldn't even get on the boat. The time management was terrible. I don't recommend it.
