Puerto Madryn and Valdes Peninsula Trip

We will pick you up at 8 am from your hotel or at Viedma de Las Grutas Street and we will follow the idyllic National Route 3 from the Province of Río Negro to the Province of Chubut.

We will make the first stop at the Isthmus Ameghino Interpretation Center, the access point to the famous Valdes Peninsula. After visiting its exhibition of fauna and flora, we will head to the Puerto Pirámides sea lion colony, where we will encounter the famous one-haired sea lions up close!

Then, we will go to the dock so that you can take a two-hour whale watching boat ride if you choose. If you prefer to stay on dry land, you can take the opportunity to explore the town. Later, we will accompany you to the restaurant area, where you will have one hour free for lunch (not included).

After lunch, we will leave for El Doradillo beach, whose shores are usually frequented by whales during low tide. If we are lucky we may spot one! Following the route along the coast of Golfo Nuevo we will arrive at the city of Puerto Madryn, where we will learn all about its history and traditions.

Finally, we will return to Las Grutas, arriving at 8 pm.

Visit to the Península Valdés penguin colony

When making the booking you have the option to conclude the trip with a visit to the amazing Península Valdés penguin colony. If you choose this option, the first part of the tour will be identical to the previous itinerary and, after lunch, we will go to the north of Península Valdés. There we will visit Estancia San Lorenzo, where we will discover the Patagonian way of life. Then we will continue to the northern coast of the peninsula to meet the friendly Magellanic penguins.

If the weather conditions are favorable, we will also see the sea lion colony at Punta Norte. There, besides sea lions, we will see southern orcas. Finally, at 10 pm, we will return to Las Grutas.
