Right in the centre of León, next to the Plaza Mayor, you'll find the Castrillo Restaurant, one of the best places to try the famous Maragato Cocido. This typical dish from León has the same ingredients and is cooked in the same way as the usual Cocido stew from Madrid, but the difference is that it's served upside down!
You'll taste this curious dish from León in the traditional way thanks to the experience of the Castrillo Restaurant, which has been cooking this delicacy since 1840. Moreover, its privileged location in the centre of the city will give you a unique view while you eat. Enjoy your meal!
Menu
The menu you'll enjoy consists of three "vuelcos", bread and dessert:
- First serving: high-quality local meat, stuffing and chorizo
- Second serving: pico pardal chickpeas with cabbage and fried vegetables
- Third serving: noodle soup
- Dessert: custard with Astorga butter or lemon mousse
Meal Times
- Weekdays: there is no lunch shift, you can go at the time you prefer
- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: when you make your reservation, you'll have to choose between the 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm shift
