Enjoy a full day of adventure in Luang Prabang, with this tour, taking you around the land of the elephants and even riding on one! And you'll visit one of Laos' most popular caves, where the Buddha looms large over everything, and explore the Whisky village. Unique experiences!
We'll pick you up from your accommodation at 9 am, making our way to the Elephant camp. There you'll meet your Mahouts, the name for those who look after and direct their elephants.
At 10 am you'll begin your elephant ride, and alongside your new friends will discover the stunning landscapes which surround us.
Then you'll have the option to climb aboard a boat which will take us to the Pak Ou Caves - also known as the Caves of the Thousand Buddhas. Found 25 km from Luang Prabang, two sanctuaries can be found inside. We'll visit them, and admire the 4,000 statues which decorate their halls. And we'll also enjoy the views they offer of the Mekong river.
At midday, we'll stop to eat lunch, enjoying some typical local dishes from the region. Then we'll head back with the Mahouts, to learn how they work, and the more adventurous among you can learn to train the elephants, and help their trainers to bathe them.
Then we'll head to the Whisky Village, where we'll discover the local way of life. And this is the point of the day trip where you can try the local artisanal whisky, or the rice wine typical of the village!
Then your day of adventure finishes in Luang Prabang at around 4 pm.
