The Calanques Trekking Route
We'll meet at 10 am by the Place Rond-Point du Prado. From here, we'll go on a walk to the Parc Pastré, a beautiful garden located in the Pointe-Rouge district of Marseille.
Next, there will be a guided trekking tour around the Parc Pastré through the Calanques National Park. These famous coves in Marseille are one of the major natural attractions in this area of southern France. During the route, we'll learn to distinguish the different botanical species including pines, oaks, laurels, thyme, junipers and long etcetera provide the greenness of the paths.
To admire the Calanques at their fullest we'll climb up to the Col des Chèvres (Goat Pass), a hill located at 320 meters (1050 feet) of altitude. Once we reach the summit we'll enjoy the beautiful views while replenishing our strength with a picnic lunch in the middle of nature. Next, we'll begin the descent to Callelongue, a picturesque harbour located in the vicinity. We can also take a refreshing swim in its waters.
The tour will end at 2 pm. After the visit to Callelongue and its surroundings, we'll show you how you can get from here to the centre of Marseille by public transport.
You must have a good level of fitness to participate in this activity.
