Frida Kahlo Free Tour of Coyoacán

The tour meets at the scheduled time inside the Metro Viveros/Derechos Humanos subway station, in front of the station's ticket office.

Here, we'll begin our tour with the picturesque streets and squares of the bohemian neighbourhood of Coyoacán. The colour and charm of its houses welcome you to one of the oldest areas of the city.

During the tour, we'll pass some of the must-visit places in this neighborhood, like the Capilla de San Antonio de Padua, famous for its simple architecture and calm atmosphere, the Fonoteca Nacional, or the Casa de Cultura Jesús Reyes Heroles, a place that perfectly reflects the creative spirit of Coyoacán.

The route then continues, taking in the exterior of the Capilla de Santa Catarina, a true gem in the neighborhood surrounded by trees, the Jardín Centenario, or the  Mercado de Coyoacán, where you won't be able to purchase a Mexican treat ot craft.

Then we'll take a look at the Casa Azul (Blue House), famous as the home of Frida Kahlo, and which these days is a museum dedicated to the artist (entry not included). If you want to visit the house, you can do so at your own leisure at the end of the tour. Inside, you can find personal items and great works by the painter, revealing the intimate life of the most famous Latin American artist in the world.

After 2 hours, this free tour of Frida Kahlo and the neighborhood of Coyoacán will end back at the starting point.
