Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Mombasa and begin a tour that will take you on a journey to the past of this Kenyan city. Ready to explore the Old Town of Mombasa and Fort Jesus? It's the best way to learn Mombasa's history!

Mombasa is one of the main cities in Kenya, so on this tour, you'll discover the country's history, culture, and traditions. First, we'll start to stroll around the Old Town of Mombasa, where we'll follow the footprints left behind in Mombasa by Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, Asian, Portuguese, and British cultures.

During the tour, you'll travel back to the 13th century, when the city was founded, and see buildings that will transport you to that period. This neighborhood is full of houses, markets, and temples that perfectly reflect the rich cultural heritage present on its streets, such as its mosques, Hindu temples, and buildings with a marked Swahili architecture.

Afterward, we'll pass by the famous Mombasa Tusk arcs, one of the city's most iconic monuments. Don't forget to take a picture! We'll continue learning about Mombasa's past by reaching Fort Jesus, a Portuguese bastion from the 16th century, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, that marked a turning point in the city's development.

We'll step inside the fort and discover how this historic site played a crucial role in the history of Mombasa as we stroll along its murals and towers.

Finally, after 3 hours, we'll conclude this tour at the entrance of Fort Jesus.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes pickup for hotels located on the northern coast of Mombasa (Nyali) and on the island of Mombasa. If you're staying in another area, we'll meet at Camel's Joint Fort.

Please note that this tour ends at Fort Jesus, not at your hotel or the meeting point.
