Monchique Guided Tour

At the selected time, we'll meet at the main square of Monchique. Once we're all gathered, we'll start a guided tour of this charming Algarve village located in the Sierra de Monchique.

The guide will tell us about the history of this small village, a must-see spot in the inner Algarve and famous for its arbutus trees - also known as strawberry trees. You can't leave Monchique without sampling the liquor made from strawberry trees!

We'll explore the town's main streets, admiring the colorful facades of its buildings, as well as its iconic chimneys. Also, we'll visit the Matriz church, a temple built between the 15th and 16th centuries, home to real treasures of sacred art.

Another of the sites we'll visit during the tour will be the ruins of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Desterro, located in the highest part of Monchique, From there, you'll be able to enjoy some breathtaking views of the area.

Lastly, we'll end the guided tour of Monchique at the starting point after an hour and a half of sightseeing.
