Bike Tour of Montevideo
Discover the best areas of downtown Montevideo on two wheels when you take our fantastic bicycle tour. This a unique, fun way to explore this magical city!
Bike Tour of Montevideo
We will begin our guided bicycle route through Montevideo on Pérez Castellano Street, located in the heart of the Old City of the Uruguayan capital.
The first stop of the tour is at Plaza Zabala square. The architectural design of this landmark is inspired by the spirit of the Belle Époque, and was an attempt to equate Montevideo with the great European cities. We will continue the tour in the nearby Plaza de la Constitución square, where you will see the magnificent facade of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Cycling through the streets near the cathedral we will reach the beating heart of historic Montevideo: the Plaza de la Independencia square. We pause here to learn about the history of the Gateway of the Citadel, the Salvo Palace, and other important monuments and buildings in this iconic square.
We continue pedaling in the direction of the legendary Teatro Solís theatre. From there we then go to the great Rambla Sur, where you will see other famous sights such as the 'English Temple' Cathedral, the headquarters of Mercosur headquarters, and the Punta Brava Lighthouse. Finally, at the end of the tour, we will return back to the original departure point.
Bike Rental
At the end of the tour, you can enjoy using the bikes for two more hours at no extra cost. After these 120 additional minutes, we will pick up the bike from your Montevideo accommodation, free of charge.
