Guelaguetza Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and set off on an unforgettable day connecting with the roots of this region.
Our first stop will be the archaeological site of Mitla, the second most important in the state of Oaxaca, and a place whose mysticism will captivate you. Lesser-known than other sites in the area, its history and heritage will leave you speechless as you learn about the fascinating Zapotec culture and explore its ancient structures.
At lunchtime, we'll enjoy typical Oaxacan cuisine in the most authentic of settings: a home-cooked meal at Doña María's house. After savoring the traditional flavors, we'll visit her family weaving workshop, where you'll get a firsthand look at the artisan process behind the region's famous textiles.
We'll then head to Santa María del Tule, where you'll get to see the iconic Tule Tree, famous for having the widest trunk in the world, before beginning your immersion in the Guelaguetza in a nearby community. At around 5 pm, you'll be swept up in the festive atmosphere of this celebration in its purest and most original form, witnessing traditional dances and admiring the stunning clothing from the different regions of Oaxaca.
Finally, 9 hours after pickup, we'll drop you back at your hotel.
