Mondello & Mount Pellegrino Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the Piazza Verdi at the designated time and leave Palermo behind. On board the vehicle, we'll provide an audio guide in English so you can learn the history of the places we'll visit.
The first stop will be Mondello, one of the most famous coastal destinations in Sicily, located 6.83 miles (11 kilometers) from Palermo. Here, you'll have free time to stroll along its charming sea promenade, explore the old fishing town, and admire the elegant villas. Are you up for trying an authentic panino con panelle or fending off the heat with a gelato or a granita? You won't be able to resist its traditional flavors!
After 1 hour of enjoying Mondello, we'll set off to Mount Pellegrino, the majestic promontory that Goethe defined as "the most beautiful in the world." We'll climb up to its viewpoint to take in the spectacular views of Palermo and its gulf.
Then, we'll stop for approximately 45 minutes at the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, the city's patron saint, where you'll learn about its history and discover the devotion it awakens among the Palermitani thanks to your audio guide in English.
Before returning, we'll make one last stop in Marina Yachting in Palermo, in the Molo Trapezoidale promenade. For 30 minutes, you'll enjoy the Fontane Danzanti show, a water and light show that will give a magical touch to this experience.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point and say our goodbyes after a total of 4 to 4.5 hours.
