Baztan Valley & Zugarramurdi Caves Day Trip
Tour Details
In her literary trilogy, Dolores Redondo captured the mythology of the Baztan Valley in a magical light. To feel it in first person, we'll meet at the indicated time at the Pamplona Bus Station. First destination? The viewpoint of the Baztan Valley, where we'll admire its green landscapes!
Next, we'll head to Elizondo. In this beautiful village of Navarre, considered the capital of the Baztan Valley, we'll take a walk and admire its characteristic stately architecture and its stone bridges over the Bidasoa River. We'll also tell you about the countless legends that surround it.
Leaving Elizondo behind, we'll head towards the caves of Zugarramurdi. Will we feel the presence of the spells of the past? We'll tell you all about the mystery that surrounds this place, linked to the ancient akelarres and the history of witchcraft in Navarre.
Lastly, we'll return to the road to admire the beautiful landscapes of the valley until we return to Pamplona. Finally, we'll arrive at the starting point in the capital of Navarre and say goodbye 5.5 hours later.
Partial Closure
Due to improvement works on the access to the Zugarramurdi Caves, the tour cannot be completed until further notice. As the works are ongoing, the accessible areas will vary depending on the date, and it is not possible to define in advance exactly which parts will be visited. However, visits will continue to operate as normal, covering as much of the site as possible at any given time. This situation is expected to end during the month of March.
