If you choose to climb the tower, you'll enjoy unbeatable views of the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame and the Champ-de-Mars.

Did you know...

The Eiffel Tower was originally built as a temporary structure. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the structure was constructed for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889 to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution. Despite some controversy, due to its popularity and function as a radio antenna, the Eiffel Tower became a permanent monument.

Before you visit

In order to avoid crowds, book your visit to the tower online in advance of your visit. We recommend planning your visit for early in the morning or late in the afternoon. However, despite larger crowds, visiting the Eiffel Tower at night makes for a special experience!
