Immerse yourself in Thai culture with this Khao Lak Day Trip. You'll visit a temple inhabited by monkeys, ride on an elephant and go rafting on a bamboo raft.
Khao Lak Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel between 7 and 8 am. From here we'll leave Phuket and travel past the island landscape for an hour and a half.
As we enter the province of Phang Nga we'll reach our first destination on the Khao Lak day trip, the Suwan Kuha Temple, also known as Temple Cave or Temple of the Monkeys. Inside we'll greet the macaques that inhabit the location, and admire the impressive reclining Buddha.
Next, the tour will continue on to the village of Khao Lak. Here, our fellow travellers, the elephants, will be waiting for us! We'll ride on the backs of these large animals for 30 minutes and walk through the most natural part of Khao Lak. After the tour, we'll witness a 15-minute show starring the elephants and have the opportunity to swim in the Khao Sok River.
We'll then go to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch full of traditional Thai food. Following on, the tour will take us to explore the village and arrive back at the Khao Sok River. Ready for a bamboo raft ride?
Here's your chance to get on a traditional bamboo raft and enjoy a 25 minute ride along the calm waters. A local oarsman will guide the raft throughout the ride, and we'll even see a waterfall!
Then, we'll return to Phuket, and the day trip will end back at your accommodation at 5 pm.
