Excursion to Aveiro & Boat Trip
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the exit of the São Bento metro station, where we'll get on a bus to leave Porto behind and head towards Aveiro, the canalled city also known as the 'Portuguese Venice'.
After about 50 minutes, we'll arrive at our destination and start a guided tour of Aveiro. On this walking tour, we'll visit the most emblematic places, starting with the Carcavelos Bridge.
Our tour will then bring us to the Cathedral, where we'll admire its baroque façade framed by four Solomonic columns. We'll also see the Chapel of São Gonçalinho, the Museum of New Art and the Monument to João Afonso de Aveiro.
Afterwards, we'll walk to the Aveirense Theatre, undoubtedly one of the most important public spaces in the city. We'll not finish this route through Aveiro without stopping in front of the famous monument of José Estêvão Coelho de Magalhães.
Afterwards, we'll leave you 2.5 hours of free time to continue discovering Aveiro. We recommend you enjoy the Moliceiro boat ride included in the tour and take the opportunity to have lunch and taste the delicious gastronomy of the north of Portugal.
We'll meet up again and, before making our way back to Porto again, we'll visit the Capela do Senhor da Pedra, a church built on the top of a rock on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. We'll learn about the legends that surround this small chapel while we admire the stunning views.
After 7.5 hours of sightseeing, we'll finish the tour by saying our goodbyes at the starting point.
