Discover the most authentic Mexican dishes and explore the historic centre of Puerto Vallarta at sunset on this street food tour.

Puerto Vallarta Street Food Tour

We'll meet at 7 pm outside the Nuestra Señora del Refugio church, one of the most emblematic sights in the city. From there, we'll start our tour of the historic centre of Puerto Vallarta, discovering the city's history and, most importantly, the locals' favourite recipes.

First of all, we'll walk along the beachfront promenade, where you can admire the lively atmosphere and the traditional Voladores de Papantla flying dancers, named on the UNESCO list of Cultural Heritage. We'll also make the most of this area to start trying typical Mexican street food such as tacos or elotes (corn) with mayonnaise and cheese, accompanied by refreshing fruit juices.

Afterwards, we'll head into the more residential area of the historic centre, where you'll learn more about the local architecture and discover the history of Gringo Gulch; a luxurious area built in the 50s where Hollywood stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton have lived over the years.

Next, we'll make our way to a panoramic viewpoint to see the sunset over Banderas Bay and the historic centre of the city. Do you know what could make this view even better? Some delicious tacos al pastor! After having tried these typical tacos, we'll head to the Plaza de Armas square to admire the city hall and the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe church; two of the most emblematic sights in Puerto Vallarta.

We'll then continue our route, crossing the River Cuala and reaching the area known as Old Town. Once there, we'll seek out the most traditional Mexican street food, and of course, no food tour would be complete without dessert! How about some Mexican churros, or a type of ice cream known as 'snow'?

Our street food tour of Puerto Vallarta will come to an end in the Azulejos Park at 10 pm. Did you know this is famous for its mosaics?
