El Naranjo Horse Riding Activity

Between 7 and 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Rosario de la Frontera and head to the stables where we'll start the activity. When we get there, we'll greet our new travel companions and set off on our horse riding activity to the village of El Naranjo.

We'll travel along a stretch of the old Royal Road, which linked the viceroyalties of Upper Peru and Río de La Plata. Once we arrive at El Naranjo, which can be traced back to 1713, we'll visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy. Here, we'll see a beautiful wooden carving of Christ that dates back to the Jesuit period.

After visiting the chapel, we'll continue our horse riding activity by trotting through the Yungas jungles around El Naranjo. Our route will then take us in the direction of an old colonial post called El Cochuchal, where we'll stop for a picnic lunch with a selection of local specialities.

When we've had lunch, we'll climb back up into the saddles for a ride through the sub-Andean mountain ranges in this area. As well as taking in the breathtaking scenery around us, we'll also cast our eyes to the sky to try and catch a glimpse of Andean Condors and any other birds endemic to this area flying overhead. 

Following an unforgettable activity, we'll return to El Naranjo and take our bus back to Rosario de la Frontera. Our arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 6 pm.
