Argentine Empanadas Cooking Class in Salta
Cooking Class Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of Alto Noa Shopping, and from this shopping mall in Salta, we'll walk toward the Melchora restaurant.
At this restaurant, a local chef awaits, who will show us how to prepare authentic empanadas in Salta. Before starting this cooking class, we'll learn about the history and cultural value of this iconic dish, which is part of the culinary heritage of northern Argentina. This popular recipe is the most important dish in peñas, fairs, and all types of family reunions.
After a short introduction, we'll prepare the onions, potatoes, eggs, and more necessary spices. Once we have all these ingredients and measurements, we'll discover how to knead, fill, and close the empanadas. We'll show you the best tricks!
Then, it'll be time to cook the empanadas, keeping in mind the strict timing. It's very important to be precise! After the empanadas are cooked, we'll let them cool off for a few minutes and then try our handmade empanadas. We'll accompany the tasting with a glass of wine or with mineral water, whichever you choose.
Finally, we'll conclude this 2.5-hour cooking class by giving you a participation diploma and a digital cookbook so you can continue cooking Argentine delicacies at home.
