Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at the designated time at your hotel in San Salvador. From there, we'll embark on a 1.5-hour trip to Ahuachapán, switching from the road to mountain views. Can you feel the humidity of the region?

Upon arrival, you'll discover the Salto de Malacatiupán, a set of three waterfalls about 39 ft (12 m) tall whose thermal waters go up to 95°F (35°C) and are surrounded by exotic vegetation. Here, you'll have about 3.5 hours of free time to swim, explore the trails, or enjoy breakfast.

Afterward, we'll continue the day trip in one of the most beautiful towns of the Ruta de las Flores in El Salvador ("Flower Route"). The town of Concepción de Ataco, at an altitude of over 3,937 ft (1,200 m). Here, you'll discover murals that tell the past and the region's Pipil identity. We'll lose ourselves among the fabrics and embroidery of its traditional stores and see some of the galleries that preserve the town's essence from outside.

At lunchtime, we'll recommend where to enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch, we'll begin a journey of approximately 2 hours toward Apaneca. In this town, we'll visit Café Albania, one of the most popular parks on the Ruta de las Flores.

You'll have 1.5 hours to explore the attractions at your own pace, among which the giant swing, the maze of cypresses, and the rainbow slide stand out. You'll love climbing up to the natural viewpoints of Café Albania!

Next up, we'll head to Salcoatitán, a town on the Ruta de las Flores with an indisputable Colonial personality. In this tour, we'll go on an approximately 1-hour tour, where we'll stroll around its main square and admire a small church from the beginning of the 19th century, built in stone. As we explore the town, we'll share how it has managed to withstand earthquakes and internal conflicts, now boasting a population of almost 8,000 inhabitants.

Finally, from here, we'll return to your hotel in San Salvador, where we'll say our goodbyes 12 hours after the initial pickup.
