Suchitoto & Cihuatán Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Salvador to set off toward one of the most beautiful towns in El Salvador. Let's go!
After 1.5 hours traveling, we'll reach Suchitoto, a town where the calm rhythm of life is seen on every corner. Once there, we'll enter a picturesque, typical restaurant to enjoy a breakfast of pupusas and coffee. Could this be more authentic?
Afterward, we'll walk along the cobbled streets of Suchitoto, filled with Colonial houses with wrought iron balconies and colorful facades. Did you know this town's name means "place of birds and flowers" in the Nahuatl language?
In front of the Parroquia de Santa Lucía, we'll admire its white Neoclassical facade and take keepsake photos. A few steps away, the Plaza Central will greet us with its art galleries, craft workshops, and coffees that will invite you to enjoy the town's peacefulness.
Midday, we'll head to a restaurant with views of Lake Suchitlán. Depending on your preferences, we'll take you to the iconic Casa 1800 Suchitoto or the Donde Polo restaurant. Here, you'll have a typical lunch at your own pace. Enjoy!
We'll return to the vehicle, and in 40 minutes, we'll reach the Cihuatán Archaeological Park, one of the best-preserved Prehispanic cities in El Salvador. For 1.5 hours, we'll explore its ceremonial squares, pyramids, and former spaces for ball games. There are over 150 structures!
Finally, we'll embark on a 2-hour journey back to San Salvador, where we'll drop you off at your hotel after a total of 10 hours.
