Immerse yourself in Portuguese tradition on this trip to a bull farm, where you'll also get to see the toro de lidia fighting bulls as well as pure-bred Lusitano horses.
Santarém Bull Farm Tour
We'll meet at 9:30 am outside the Adega Cooperativa de Alcanhões winery, just 6 kilometres from the centre of Santarém and hop on a minibus to head to the bull farm.
When we arrive we'll go on a safari tour of the farm on board the vehicle so we can get close to the bulls safely as you learn all about the ranch and its methods.
You'll get to see many different types of the toro de lidia, fighting bulls bred in Portugal and Spain, from calves to fully grown adults.
During the tour we'll also get to see the famous Lusitano horses, a historic Portuguese breed, as well as many beautiful birds such as storks and herons.
At the end of the tour we'll return to the starting point.
