Valle Nevado & Farellones Day Trip
Valle Nevado & Farellones Day Trip Itinerary
Leave the heat of the Chilean capital behind, and head out on your excursion into the cooler mountain air of the Andes. After being picked up from your hotel, you'll set off on your journey to Farellones and Valle Nevado. While in winter, the towns are famous as world-class ski resorts, in summer, once the layer of powdery white snow has been melted, the beauty of the rugged mountain landscape is revealed.
The first stop on your day trip will be Farellones, a traditional mountain village located on what was the ancient Inca road system. This is the perfect location to take in the incredible diversity of the region's native flora and fauna. Make sure to keep an eye on the sky - you don't want to miss seeing an elegant Andean condor in flight.
During the summer months, cyclists and mountaineers take over Farellones, which in winter is a hive of skiers and snowboarders. You'll have the opportunity at this point to remain in the town for the rest of the day, and experience speeding down the slopes on bikes, or to make your way to the next stop on the tour.
For those who prefer to continue exploring the Andes mountain range, you'll next make your way to Valle Nevado, one of South America's most exclusive ski resorts. In summer, the "Snowy Valley" becomes a rocky valley with hiking and cycling paths leading down to spectacular azure lagoons. Home to one of the highest altitude routes in Chile, Valle Nevado is a dream location for adventurous cyclists.
After visiting Valle Nevado, the tour will return to Farellones to pick up the people who stayed there, before heading back to Santiago de Chile. At the end of the day, you'll be dropped back off at your hotel.
