Viña Santa Rita Bike Tour
Tour Details
After getting on the bus at the meeting point, we’ll begin a 40 km (24.8 mi) trip south of Santiago. We’ll pass near the Maipo Valley, taking in spectacular landscapes.
As soon as we arrive at Viña Santa Rita, its charm will be evident with its gardens and architecture. In fact, did you know it has been declared a Historic Monument? We’ll assign you bicycles and helmets to start pedaling through Centenario Park before heading to the vineyards, which stretch as far as the eye can see.
While listening to stories about the winery’s foundation, we’ll reach the cellars to learn about the wine-making process, from vine to glass. Of course, we’ll talk about its famous 120 wine. Did you know it was named the best Cabernet Sauvignon in South America by The Washington Post?
Next comes one of the most anticipated moments of the tour. We’ll sit down for a picnic consisting of a cheese and cold-cut board and a traditional ciabatta sandwich. Everything will be accompanied by two Reserva wines and one Gran Reserva wine, carefully selected to appreciate the essence of the central valley’s terroir.
After enjoying the food, we’ll head to the Andean Museum at Viña Santa Rita, where we’ll take a guided tour to admire more than 3,000 ethnographic pieces that connect us with the richness and past of the region’s pre-Columbian cultures. The museum’s minimalist and modern architecture in the middle of the valley will surprise you.
Finally, we’ll return to the vehicle to begin the trip back to the original meeting point in Santiago, where we’ll finish the tour 8 hours later.
