After picking you up at Hotel Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden, we'll set off west to Zhujiajiao, a historic gem located 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Shanghai. Did you know this is the best-preserved aquatic town in Shanghai? You'll soon see why it's known as the Venice of Shanghai!
Once in Zhujiajiao, we'll explore its traditional streets and admire the ancient houses that rise on the canal's shores. We'll stroll along its picturesque stone bridges, some over 5000 years old, while we tell you anecdotes and legends of the city.
Afterward, we'll go on a boat ride along the canals for 20 minutes to enjoy the beauty of Zhujiajiao from the water. Then, you'll have 40 minutes of free time to continue exploring the town at your own pace. If you want, you can visit some of the gardens or lose yourself among the streets filled with artisanal stores.
At the agreed time, we'll meet at a restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional dishes and a soft drink.
After lunch, we'll return to Shanghai and continue our tour in Tianzifang, a neighborhood with an artistic soul located in the former French concession. Its maze-like streets are home to art galleries, design studios, and elegant boutiques. Here, you can make the most of your time to shop.
After finishing the tour, you'll have the option of staying in Tianzifang or returning by bus to the fake market of Shanghai, where we'll conclude our day trip after a total of 7 to 8 hours.
