At the designated time, we'll meet at Exit 1 of the Yuyuan Garden Station, where we'll kick off this free tour of historic Shanghai. Time to explore!
We'll begin our tour by heading to the old town, where in the past stood walls to protect the city. Here, you'll see how much the lives of its inhabitants have changed over time and discover the secrets hidden in this area.
Do you know which animal represents your birth year in Chinese astrology? During this tour, we'll tell you its meaning, how it influences personalities, and the traditions the Chinese have to celebrate it.
Afterward, we'll visit a traditional medicine store with over 100 years of history. Here, you'll learn about herbs and natural remedies used in Chinese culture and even try some herbal teas.
We'll then see the City God Temple, one of the most important temples in Shanghai, where the locals pray for health and prosperity every new lunar year.
Our tour of historic Shanghai will continue in the Yuyuan Garden, where we'll cross the famous Nine-turn Bridge, also known as Zig Zag Bridge. We'll also explore the stands in a market where you'll find artisanal crafts, clothes, jewels, and local specialties.
