Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Munkbrohamnen pier, near Gamla Stan metro station, to begin this guided tour of Stockholm's Old Town. We'll start the tour by discussing how the city looks today, then walk to Riddarholmen, the Island of the Knights.

During the tour, we’ll share details about the history of iconic buildings, such as the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The current Baroque-style palace was built after a fire destroyed the original castle in 1697.

Next, we'll stop at the Nobel Prize Museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of Alfred Nobel. The museum is located in the former Stockholm Stock Exchange building, a place of great historical importance that also houses the headquarters of the Swedish Academy, responsible for selecting the winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

We’ll then admire Stockholm Cathedral, which houses the famous wooden sculpture of Saint George and the Dragon, considered a symbol of Sweden’s victory over Denmark.

Additionally, we'll also stop at the German Church, a testament to the influence of German merchants in Stockholm's commercial history. With its 96-meter (315 ft) tower, it's the tallest building in the old town and continues to hold services in German.

Finally, after a 2-hour guided tour, we'll say goodbye at the meeting point.
