    Remy was very knowledgeable, friendly, had good jokes, and gave us the very interesting history of Strasbourg- a huge loss if you miss it. As a history nerd or just as a regular person of society, I would recommend this tour to anyone. Anyone that speaks English.

    I was with William on the slot of 14h30 on the 21st Dec. William is excellent! He was able to make the complicated histories so interesting, easy to understand within a limited time in the crowd. Understanding the story of a city is a big part of my sightseeing, therefore this walking tour has made the trip so much more meaningful! Thank you for organising the tour and thank you William for your wonderful guide! I had a great time!

Strasbourg Cathedral, located in the heart of the Strasbourg, is a jewel of European Gothic architecture. With its stunning sandstone exterior and rich history dating back to 1015, it is one of the most important monuments in Alsace.

A bit of history

Built between the 11th and 15th centuries, this church stands as a prime example of the evolution of Gothic art. It was built on the site of an ancient Roman basilica, the cathedral became a symbol of the historical and cultural richness of Strasbourg, a city located at the crossroads between France and Germany.

Did you know

Strasbourg Cathedral was once the tallest building in the world. Although it no longer holds this position today, its dimensions and its bell tower, which measures 142 metres (465 feet), remains impressive to this day, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Discovering the astronomical clock

Inside the cathedral is an astronomical clock dating back to the 16th century and considered a marvel of Renaissance engineering. This mechanical masterpiece, not only marks the hours, but also the celestial movements!

Every day at 12:30 pm, the clock's mechanical figures come to life in a spectacle that attracts visitors from all over the world. It is a must-see experience for visitors to Strasbourg.
