Tekapo Stargazing

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time on Andrew Don Drive, just a four-minute drive from the Tekapo city center, and start this magical stargazing experience.

At our stargazing location, where there's nearly zero light pollution, we'll embark on an astronomical journey from ancient stories of constellations to scientific facts. Our guide will tell us about different astrological theories all the way from Greek mythology to Maori legends.

Sitting outside with blankets and hot chocolate to keep us warm, we'll admire a variety of stars in the sky through a powerful 9.25-inch computerised telescope as we learn about the complexity of the solar system.

As we approach the end of our time together, we'll gather around a fire pit where we'll be able to roast marshmallows as we enjoy our final moments admiring the starry sky.

Finally, after a total of 1.5 hours, we'll say our goodbyes.
