Chinon Day Trip + Loire Valley Wineries Visit
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up in front of the Tours Tourist Office and from there, we'll head to a winery in the Loire Valley.
In this first stop, we'll discover what the Loire vineyards are like and learn about the types of grapes grown in this area of France. As well as that, we'll see their viticulture techniques, which have special soil and climatic conditions, favoured by the fertility provided by the Loire River. After visiting the vineyards, we'll visit the winery facilities, where we'll conclude the tour by tasting a wine from the Bourgueil Appellation of Origin.
At the end of the tasting, we'll continue our route to Chinon, one of the most beautiful villages in the Loire Valley. Upon arrival, we'll take a short guided tour to see the exterior of the spectacular Royal Fortress and discover the charm of its old town, built on the banks of the Vienne River.
You'll then have about 1 hour of free time in Chinon to stroll around and enjoy the exquisite local cuisine at your leisure.
After lunch, we'll meet back up and drive to another winery in the Loire Valley. When we arrive, we'll also tour the vineyards and facilities, and of course, we'll finish the visit by tasting a wine, this time from the Chinon A.O. It will be the perfect finale!
Finally, we'll head back to the meeting point in Tours, where we'll conclude this 8-hour day trip.
