Sumidero Canyon & Chiapa de Corzo Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tuxla Gutiérrez and set off on our journey to the Sumidero Canyon, where we'll arrive after approximately 30 minutes.
First, we'll stop at the two or three main viewpoints of the Sumidero Canyon, where we'll enjoy the beautiful scenic views of the canyon for 2 hours. As the guide shares interesting facts about this site, you'll have time to take stunning pictures.
Then, we'll board a boat and embark on a boat tour of the Sumidero Canyon. We'll explore the interior of the canyon and sail between the sheer rock walls of the canyon, towering about 3280 ft (1000 m) tall. You'll admire the lush vegetation of the area. If you're lucky, you might spot different species of wildlife—keep your eyes peeled!
After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, we'll end our boat tour at Chiapa de Corzo, the first colonial city founded by the Spaniards in 1528. Here, you'll have 2 hours of free time to explore this Pueblo Mágico, visit the malecón, and see the Colonial fountain. You'll also have the chance to purchase artisanal crafts and enjoy the local cuisine on your own.
We'll end our day trip by returning to Tuxtla Gutiérrez and dropping you off at your hotel after 7 hours.
