We'll meet at Maria-Theresien-Platz to start a free tour that will take us into the neighborhood of Spittelberg, one of the most charming areas in Vienna.
Located right in the heart of Neubau, the city's creative and alternative center, this neighborhood perfectly combines its history with endless avant-garde galleries. To start, we'll stroll around the Burggarten, an English-style park that's very close to the Hofburg, and we'll reach the Museumsquartier. Did you know it's one of the largest artistic complexes in the world? Here, we'll stop in front of the sculpture of the Minotaur.
Our tour will continue along the cobbled streets of the neighborhood of Spittelberg, filled with colorful facades, cafés, and vintage stores. As we see its Biedermeier-style houses and their hidden interior courtyards, we'll reach the Palace of Justice and the Schmerlingplatz, the perfect spot to learn about the July Revolt of 1927. This is a key moment to learn about Austria's history.
Halfway through the tour, we'll make a short stop outside the Palais Auersperg. We'll continue our free tour by walking around Piaristengasse until we reach the Piarist Church, a Baroque temple with a facade that will make you fall in love. Afterward, we'll explore Lange Gasse, a street with period houses and a setting that captivates everyone who visits.
Finally, after 2 hours, we'll say our goodbyes at the campus of the University of Vienna.
