Jaca, Canfranc, & Sallent de Gállego Day Trip
Day Trip Details
Ready to discover the beautiful scenery of the Aragonese Pyrenees? At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up at the Monument to the Victims of the Sieges, and from this point in Zaragoza, we’ll head north toward the province of Huesca.
After a road journey of approximately 2 hours, we’ll arrive in Canfranc, whose railway terminal is considered one of the most beautiful train stations in Spain.
What role did this place play during World War II? Why was it considered a strategic point? We’ll find out during a short guided tour of the surroundings of the Canfranc International Station, which today houses a 5-star hotel.
At the end of the tour, you’ll have 1 hour of free time in Canfranc to enjoy its landscapes at your own pace. Afterward, we’ll return to the vehicle to begin a journey of around 30 minutes to Jaca. Upon arriving in this city, the capital of the Aragonese Pyrenees, we’ll take a guided tour to discover its main points of interest from the outside, including the Cathedral of San Pedro and the Citadel.
After this walk, you’ll have around 2 hours of free time in Jaca to visit its shops and enjoy its exquisite mountain cuisine. Once you’ve recharged your energy, we’ll head out on a journey of just 50 minutes to Sallent de Gállego, one of the most beautiful towns in the Aragonese Pyrenees.
In this charming mountain town, located in the Tena Valley, we’ll take in the majestic peaks surrounding the village, through which the Gállego River flows. We’ll stroll along its cobblestone streets and see its traditional stone houses. We’ll also enjoy spectacular views of the Lanuza Reservoir.
Finally, you’ll have 1 hour of free time in Sallent de Gállego, and we’ll then begin the return journey to the meeting point in Zaragoza, where this 11-hour day trip will come to an end.
