Off-Roading Day Trip to Palm Valley
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Alice Springs to venture into the astonishing landscapes of the West MacDonnell mountain range on an off-roading vehicle. Ready for an adventure!
Thanks to the all-terrain vehicle in which we'll travel, we'll cross roads and trails that are difficult to access. After a journey of approximately 3 hours, we'll take a short break to enjoy a delicious tea before continuing our tour.
From here, our journey will then take us on a descent along the bed of the Finke River, considered one of the world's oldest rivers. You'll be amazed by the contrast between the arid landscape and the underground waters that bring these desert surroundings to life. Afterwards, we'll reach Palm Valley, where we'll find spectacular rock formations, white dunes, and an oasis of pools and palm springs. Plants like cycads and red cabbage palms, known worldwide as botanical relics, are unique treasures in this region of Australia.
Later on, we'll have a stop at the rock formation known as the Amphitheatre, the perfect spot to take some impressive photos. Next, we'll re-energise with a picnic with the food you have brought on the trip.
With full bellies, we'll begin our return journey to Alice Springs. Along the way, we'll enjoy views of the MacDonnell Ranges as the sun begins to set, painting the scenery with its warm hues.
After a total of 10 to 10 and a half hours, this day trip will come to an end back at your hotel.
