Welcome to Orchydarium! A contemporary exhibition space equipped with interactive resources where you'll learn all about the botanical aspects and lots of fascinating facts about a very peculiar plant, the orchid.

The main theme of the visit is the endemic orchid of Almaraz, natural heritage of the town. As you wander through the different spaces and exhibitions you'll learn all about these beautiful and delicate flowers that grow in this area.

In the greenhouse area, you'll be able to get a look at these extraordinary plants up close. This place is divided into a central area and three smaller areas. The central part is dedicated to learning how to how orchids are specially grown and cared for. Then there are various greenhouses or zones where the flowers are stored in specific and special conditions. 

Finally, you'll be able to visit the Orchylab, a space where activities such as classes, workshops and training courses on this special plant are take place. Did you know that these orchids are unique in the world and can only be seen in Almaraz?

Opening hours

• Tuesday to Saturday:  9 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm
• Sundays and public holidays: 10 am to 2 pm

Summer opening hours are from 20 June to 15 September and open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm
