Amsterdam Diamond Museum Ticket
Amsterdam Diamond Museum Ticket
Amsterdam's Diamond Museum, located in front of the central Museumplein, houses one of the most distinguished jewellery collections in Europe.
The exhibition looks back on 400 years of diamond history and, in particular, Amsterdam's link to this precious stone. In turn, the capital of the Netherlands is known worldwide as "the city of diamonds".
Your skip the line ticket will give you access to the museum's permanent exhibition, in which you'll be able to admire jewelled artwork. Among the most important pieces is a truly unique katana. This traditional Japanese sword is made of Murano glass, and is decorated with 1,964 diamonds and 494 rubies.
One thing that'll be sure to catch your eye is the monkey's skull decorated with an inlay of over 17,000 sparkling diamonds. You also won't want to miss the crown showcases, where some of the jewels from the world's principal Royal Families are displayed.
In addition, the more daring visitors can visit the Laser Room. As you open the door, you'll be plunged into darkness... Until you encounter the biggest diamond you've ever seen. The lasers will light up and the room will fill with smoke, and it'll be your mission to steal the diamond. Beware! If you hit a laser beam, you'll set off the alarms.
Opening hours
The Amsterdam Diamond Museum is open Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
