Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio & Epidaurus Day Trip + Audio Guide
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Athanasiou Diakou Street and leave Athens behind, taking the national coastal road. On board the vehicle, we'll give you an audio guide in English so you can learn about the history of the places we visit.
Our first stop will be at the Corinth Canal, where we'll stop quickly to admire this masterpiece of engineering that connects the Aegean and Ionian Seas.
We'll continue our journey until we reach the region of Argolis, where the archaeological site of Mycenae awaits us. We'll access it through the Lion Gate and along the legendary Cyclopean Walls.
Next, we'll immerse ourselves in history as we visit the Royal Tombs of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon, two key figures in Greek mythology. We'll also be able to admire the Treasury of Atreus, an impressive funerary monument built around 1250 BC.
From Mycenae, we'll head to the coastal city of Nafpli, the first capital of modern Greece. Upon arrival, we'll give you an hour of free time to explore the Venetian Fortress of Palamidi and the islet of Bourtzi Castle, a fortification that seems to be floating in the centre of the harbour. Don't forget to enjoy a lunch with views of the Aegean Sea!
Later, we will continue to the ancient site of Epidaurus, birthplace of Apollo's son, Asclepius, the god of medicine.
There, you can choose between relaxing in a café or exploring the famous Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the best preserved buildings of Classical Greece. You'll be amazed by its excellent acoustics, which seem to evoke the echoes of ancient theatrical performances.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Athens, where we'll say goodbye after a total of 10 hours.
