Discover the joys of Bari on this bike tour of the Apulian city: admire its most emblematic buildings, the seafront promenade and its traditional labyrinthine streets. Plus, enjoy a typical gelato too!
Bari Bike Tour
After meeting up at 11:30 am or 3:30 pm at the meeting point, we'll climb onto our bicycles and begin pedalling around Bari city centre. Following the guide around the narrow, winding streets of the historic centre, we'll see emblematic monuments like the Basilica di San Nicola and Bari Cathedral. We'll also make a stop to admire the impressive façade of Bari's castle, the Castello Svevo, which dates back to the 12th century!
When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of two different options for your bike tour of Bari:
Bari by Bike (2 hours)
Entering the typically labyrinthine alleyways that characterise Bari's old town, we'll witness the local signoras maintaining a deeply-rooted tradition: making pasta in the street! We'll head to the newer part of the city to admire the beautiful theatres, as well as passing by Bari's most luxurious shops and boutiques.
This bicycle tour of Bari will also take us down to the seafront promenade, one of the loveliest places in the city to enjoy a bike ride. Of course, it wouldn't be a tour of an Italian city without a visit to a local gelateria! We'll make a stop to taste some of the delicious ice cream, before bringing the two-hour tour to an end by the beach.
Bari Street Food by Bike (3 hours)
This cycling tour of Bari will immerse you in the southern Italian city's food culture. First up, we'll visit a typical "panificio", or bakery, to discover how traditional focaccia barese is made. After tasting this delicious bread, we'll head to a "salumeria" to indulge in Italian salami and cheeses, washed down with a glass of wine!
This gastronomic bike tour of Bari will then take us to explore the city's street food stalls. Discover typical aperitifs like sgagliozze, fried polenta pancakes, and panzerotti, a savoury turnover pastry typical of the region of Apulia.
For the cherry on the cake, we'll pay a visit to a local gelateria to sample mouth-watering gelato, before pedalling over to see the modern area of Bari. The bike tour will then come to an end by the seafront after three hours.
At the end of the guided tour, you can choose to rent the bicycles for additional time to continue exploring the city on two wheels at your own pace. If you'd like to do this, you'll be asked to pay a deposit of 50 Euros per bike, which will be given back to you on return of the bikes. You can rent the bikes up to 7 pm at the latest.
