Bergamo Private Tour

Having met up at the entrance to the Funicolare at the scheduled time, we'll set off on our private tour of Bergamo and start exploring this beautiful city in Lombardy.

During our tour we'll explore Bergamo's Upper City, or "Città Alta" in the local Italian. This part of the city is tucked into the hills and boasts historic walls from the 16th century and Venetian defensive systems that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Next, we'll stroll to the Church of San Michele al Pozzo Blanco. This 12th-century church is located in the plaza of the same name and dates back to the 8th century. Inside, we'll see its impressive collection of frescoes from the 12th to the 16th centuries.

We'll then head to the Rocca di Bergamo, an imposing fortress that sits atop the hill of Sant'Eufemia. From this hilltop, we'll look out at breathtaking panoramic views of Bergamo and its surrounding areas.

The tour will then take us to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. The construction of this building began almost a millennia ago in the 12th century and continued into the 16th century

Nearby, we'll find Bergamo Cathedral. This magnificent Roman Catholic construction was built in honour of the city's patron saint, Saint Alexander, and houses numerous works of sacred art within its walls.

After 3 hours of history, culture and spectacular architecture, we'll finish our tour near the funicular on Largo Colle Aperto and say our goodbyes.
