On this day trip to Leuven from Brussels you'll get to explore one of Belgium's most famous university cities and discover its iconic monuments.
Leuven Day Trip
We'll meet at 1 pm at 82 Rue du Marché Aux Herbes in the centre of Brussels and set off on a 40-minute bus journey to the beautiful city of Leuven.
When we arrive we'll start with an hour-long walking tour through its picturesque historical centre. We'll admire the magnificent Brabantine Gothic architecture of the Town Hall and the charming Groot Begijnhof beguinage quarter. We'll also pass by the famous library of the Catholic University of Louvain and the Crypt of Father Damien, a Catholic priest who was awarded the title of "the Greatest Belgian" in 2005. Do you know why?
After the guided tour, you'll have around an hour of free time to explore Leuven at your leisure. We recommend paying a visit to the Oude Markt, Leuven's old market square which has been called the "longest bar in Europe" - head down to find out why!
At the end of the trip, we'll meet up and hop back on the bus to return to Brussels, arriving by around 6.45 pm.
