Anglona Guided Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazza Bastione in Castelsardo. After making our introductions, you'll get into your vehicle and follow the guide, who'll travel in their own car. Let's explore the Sardinian hinterland and discover the incredible landscapes and history of the Anglona region!

Our tour will take us on a circular route of around 12.5 miles (20 kilometres), and we'll make several stops. After admiring views of small hills and plateaus of volcanic origin, we'll reach the 12th century Church of Our Lady of Tergu. We'll admire the outside of this religious building, which is considered to be one of the greatest expressions of Romanesque architecture in Sardinia. Nearby, we'll also find the archaeological remains of the Monastery of Montecassino.

We'll then head the village of Sedini to visit its fascinating ethnographic museum, excavated in a large limestone rock. In the collection, divided into several levels, we'll see a domus de janas. We'll tell you lots of interesting stories and legends about these prehistoric burial caves traditionally known as the 'fairy house'. In the museum, we'll also see the reconstruction of a late 19th century farmhouse and a photographic exhibition of Anglona.

The last stop on our tour will be Elephant Rock, another one of Sardinia's domus de janas. You'll be able to take photos of the exterior before we return to Castelsardo, where we'll enjoy a delicious aperitif of cheeses, cold meats and local wine.

After 3 hours of history and adventure, we'll finish our tour back at the starting point.
