Altea, Guadalest & Fuentes del Algar Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at the indicated time in front of the sports centre on calle Roiç de Corella in Gandia and head south towards the province of Alicante.
After about an hour-long journey, we'll arrive in Altea, a beautiful coastal town where we'll take a short guided tour to discover its main attractions. Its great architectural icon is the blue dome of the church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, but the Portal Vell and the Glorieta del Maño also stand out.
As well as that, we'll go up to the viewpoint located on the main hill of the town, from where we'll enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Costa Blanca. At the end of the tour, you'll have approximately 1 hour of free time in Altea to stroll through the cobbled streets of the old town.
Afterwards, we'll leave Altea behind and set off on a 45-minute journey to Guadalest. In this beautiful town in Alicante, which is located on the hill overlooking the reservoir of the same name, we'll take a short walk to see the baroque church of La Asunción and the remains of the castle of San José.
Next, you'll have about 2 hours of free time in Guadalest to have lunch and visit one of its eight museums. There, you'll find very unique exhibitions, such as the Museum of Salt and Pepper Shakers and the Museum of Microminiatures.
In the afternoon, after lunch, we'll leave Guadalest and head south. After just 30 minutes, we'll arrive in Fuentes del Algar, a beautiful complex of waterfalls and natural pools declared a Protected Wetland Area.
You'll have about 1 hour of free time to enjoy a swim in its waters at your leisure. You can also walk along the surrounding trails, which are surrounded by lush vegetation.
Finally, from the Fuentes del Algar, we'll return to the meeting point in Gandia, where we'll conclude this 11-hour trip.
